KIM Kwang Hee (College of Liberal Studies)
KIM Kwang Hee, an undergraduate student in the College of Liberal Studies, had his paper published in the January edition of Angewandte Chemie, one of the two most respected chemistry journals in the world. In his article titled ‘Carbon Dioxide Capture and Use: Organic Synthesis Using Carbon Dioxide from Exhaust Gas’, he suggested the possibility of carbon dioxide’s industrial use. Carbon dioxide is easy to obtain in nature, but has not been used for such a purpose due to unstable supply. Kim sought to solve this problem by using carbon dioxide from burned candles and alcohol lamps. Kim wrote the article while interning in Professor HONG Soon Hyeok’s lab, and stated that he wishes to continue his studies in graduate school.
- The research was published in Angewandte Chemie, Vol.53
