The Office of Academic Affairs has two divisions: the Division of Academic Affairs and the Division of Educational Affairs.

The Division of Academic Affairs is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Establish or abolish colleges, graduate schools, departments, and majors
  • Manage admission quota
  • Organize academic schedules and operate domestic exchange programs
  • Appoint tenure-track faculty and academic assistants
  • Manage job openings for faculty and academic assistants
  • Manage dispatch, leave of absence, returning to office, and research leave for faculty
  • Manage overseas travel and issue certificates for faculty
  • Support and oversee affiliated institutions: University Museum, Museum of Art, Language Education Institute, etc.
The Division of Educational Affairs is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Manage academic records
  • Manage courses and grades
  • Manage course registration
  • Manage summer/winter sessions
  • Issue academic certificates and verify degrees
  • Manage graduation and diploma conference
  • Support and oversee affiliated institutions: Extension College

The Office of Research Affairs has two divisions and one team: the Division of Research Policy, the Division of Research Support, and the Research Ethics Team.

The Division of Research Policy is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Establish plans and policies to promote research
  • Administrative work to promote campus start-ups and university-industry cooperation
  • Provide assistance in applying for research projects such as BK21 PLUS
  • Manage and support government-funded research centers
  • Manage and support R&DB Foundation
  • Provide administrative assistance for research grant audits and project evaluations
  • Operate research committees: Future Research Committee, Research Operation Committee, and others
The Division of Research Support is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Establish plans and policies to support research
  • Support research exchange and academic activities
  • Appoint research fellows
  • Establish and evaluate research institutions
  • Secure research facilities
  • Manage tariff reductions and exemptions of research facilities
  • Support special research projects
  • Manage payment of performance-based bonuses and research allowances for faculty
  • Administer research settlement fund for new faculty
  • Promote research results to the public
  • Operate Research Evaluation Committee and Research Institutions Committee
  • Support and oversee Kyujanggak Institute for Korean Studies, Institute of Laboratory Animal Resources, National Center for Inter-University Research Facilities, and Institute of Environmental Protection and Safety
  • Cooperate with SNU Press and International Vaccine Institute
The Research Ethics Team is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Establish plans to ensure research ethics
  • Operate Research Ethics Committee
  • Conduct research ethics assessment
  • Oversee ethical aspects of research practice
  • Investigate research ethics violations
  • Offer research ethics training

The Office of Planning and Coordination has one division and four teams: the Division of Planning, the External Affairs Coordinating Team, the Public Relations Team, the Communication Team, and the Legal Affairs Team.

The Division of Planning is responsible for the following affairs.

The External Affairs Coordinating Team is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Coordinate with external institutions
  • Manage Seoul National University Senate
  • Cooperate with independent organizations in the university - Faculty Council, Labor Union, and others
  • Operate university honors programs: ‘Distinguished SNU Members’, ‘SNU Leadership Award’, and ‘Service to Society Award’
  • Cooperate with University Hospital and University Dental Hospital
  • Promote internal communication among the university community
The Public Relations Team is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Establish public relations plan
  • Communicate with media
The Communication Team is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Maintain the university website
  • Publish university magazine SNU People
  • Take photos of university events and maintain photo database
  • Manage ‘SNU Hall’
  • Manage social media accounts
  • Publish online newsletter
The Legal Affairs Team is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Manage litigations
  • Interpret rules and regulations
  • Provide legal review of contracts
  • Conduct statistical analysis on litigation affairs
The Legislation Team is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Review of statutes, articles of incorporation, university regulations and various regulations.
  • Educational support on legislation
  • Other matters concerning the legislation of the university

The Division of Finance & Property is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Implement university budget
  • Manage settlement of revenue and expenditure of general accounts
  • Manage expenditure of general budget
  • Manage extra-budgetary funds
  • Manage payment of faculty and staff salary
  • Manage year-end tax settlement for faculty and staff
  • Make payment of faculty and staff allowances for assigned positions or for job grade
  • Operate customized welfare system for staff
  • Manage tuition payment plan
  • File and pay taxes such as corporate tax and value added tax
  • Manage university purchasing and reform purchasing policy
  • Inspection of university property
  • Make payment of public utility charges
The Division of Asset Management is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Establish university asset management plan
  • Acquisition, donation, and disposal of university assets
  • Entrustment, lease, and rent of university assets
  • Manage taxes on university assets such as acquisition tax and property tax
  • Inspection and evaluation of university assets
  • Fire insurance subscription
The Accounting Support Team is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Establish fiscal system of the university
  • Reform university’s fiscal procedures
  • Prepare university financial statement
  • Provide guidance in the settlement of accounts
  • Provide counsel and training on accounting and taxation
The Budget Performance Evaluation Team is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Operate SNU budget performance evaluation
  • Establish and implement of SNU feasibility assessment for proposed projects

The Division of Facilities Maintenance is responsible for the following affairs.
