East Asia Studies Program

 

As East Asia’s global influence continues to expand, it is becoming essential to develop ties with the nations around us. SNU College of Humanities will provide the ‘East Asia Studies Program (EASP)’ to foster global leaders with a deep understanding of East Asia. Approximately 50 students will be selected for the program to engage in an intimate study of China and Japan. We encourage students to take this opportunity towards becoming global leaders in the future. Students who wish to participate must submit the required documents listed below.

 

1. Application Eligibility: Undergraduates and students obtaining their master’s at the College of Humanities (Undergraduate students of other majors may apply)

 

2. Program Contents & Schedule

- May / June - Lectures on Chinese and Japanese Culture (4 times)

- Mid August - Visit China / Japan

- Late August - Discussion about the visit

- September ~ November - Lectures on Chinese and Japanese Culture (6 times)

- December ~ January - Visit Japan / China

- February - Discussion about the visit

 

3. Application Period: Monday, April 28th ~ Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

* Please submit the application form to the College of Humanities Administration Office (Building #6, Room #207)

 

4. Required Documents: Application Form, Reasons for Applying (see attached)

                      Academic Records, Language Certificates (if applicable)

 

4. Expenses: 200,000 won for each trip, to China and Japan (total of 400,000 won per student)
