SNU Buys MathWorks License

The Office of Information Systems & Technology (http://ucc.snu.ac.kr) has agreed with MathWorks to buy MathWorks' campus license for four years, and has signed a contract for the first year.

SNU's College of Engineering and College of Natural Sciences are jointly providing the funds needed for the purchase.

MatLab is software that makes computations more efficient in engineering and the sciences. It is used in mathematics and statistics, and it also facilitates the collection of data through engineering functions and the development of other programs.

This purchase will allow all members of SNU to use around 50 kinds of MathWorks tools including MatLab and Simulink, widely known around the world as the general software for engineering, science, and applied mathematics, on campus for lectures and research.

The Office of Information Systems & Technology expects that this purchase will provide up-to-date products and solutions of MathWorks so that members of SNU will benefit in their distinguished research and enjoy qualitative improvement in their lectures.

Personal MatLab installed before this purchase of MathWorks’ campus license can be used only after installing the SNU campus license. For more information about how to install and use MatLab, refer to SNU's portal Mysnu (announcement 'MatLab campus license contract') or call 02-880-8282.
