The Office of Academic Affairs has two divisions: Division of Academic Affairs and Division of Educational Affairs.

The Division of Academic Affairs is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Establish or abolish colleges, graduate schools, departments, and majors
  • Manage admission quota
  • Organize academic schedules and operate domestic exchange programs
  • Appoint tenure-track faculty and academic assistants
  • Manage job openings for faculty and academic assistants
  • Manage dispatch, leave of absence, returning to office, and research leave for faculty
  • Manage overseas travel and issue certificates for faculty
  • Support and oversee affiliated institutions: University Museum, Museum of Art, Language Education Institute, etc.
The Division of Educational Affairs is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Manage academic records
  • Manage courses and grades
  • Manage course registration
  • Manage summer/winter sessions
  • Issue academic certificates and verify degrees
  • Manage graduation and diploma conference
  • Support and oversee affiliated institutions: Extension College

Office of Student Affairs

The Office of Student Affairs has two divisions: Division of Student Service and Division of Scholarship & Welfare.

The Division of Student Service is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Guide and support students’ activities
  • Manage sports and cultural events
  • Operate reward and discipline systems for students
  • Manage students’ military service and expert research personnel
  • Issue S-Card (student ID card)
  • Operate campus tour program
  • Guide and support students’ associations and clubs
  • Organize meetings with students
  • Recommend students for university committees
  • Advise and support students’ organizations
The Division of Scholarship & Welfare is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Operate welfare programs
  • Operate scholarship programs
  • Support disabled students
  • Manage university housing
  • Manage health insurance and medical aid service for students

The Office of Research Affairs has two divisions and one team: Division of Research Policy, Division of Research Support and Research Ethics Team.

The Division of Research Policy is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Establish plans and policies to promote research
  • Administrative work to promote campus start-ups and university-industry cooperation
  • Provide assistance in applying for research projects such as BK21 PLUS
  • Manage and support government-funded research centers
  • Manage and support R&DB Foundation
  • Provide administrative assistance for research grant audits and project evaluations
  • Operate research committees: Future Research Committee, Research Operation Committee, and others
The Division of Research Support is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Establish plans and policies to support research
  • Support research exchange and academic activities
  • Appoint research fellows
  • Establish and evaluate research institutions
  • Secure research facilities
  • Manage tariff reductions and exemptions of research facilities
  • Support special research projects
  • Manage payment of performance-based bonuses and research allowances for faculty
  • Administer research settlement fund for new faculty
  • Promote research results to the public
  • Operate Research Evaluation Committee and Research Institutions Committee
  • Support and oversee Kyujanggak Institute for Korean Studies, Institute of Laboratory Animal Resources, National Center for Inter-University Research Facilities, and Institute of Environmental Protection and Safety
  • Cooperate with SNU Press and International Vaccine Institute
The Research Ethics Team is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Establish plans to ensure research ethics
  • Operate Research Ethics Committee
  • Conduct research ethics assessment
  • Oversee ethical aspects of research practice
  • Investigate research ethics violations
  • Offer research ethics training

The Office of Planning and Coordination has one division and four teams: Division of Planning, Legal Affairs Team, Accounting Team, External Affairs Coordinating Team, and Public Relations Team.

The Division of Planning is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Establish comprehensive plans for university development and operation
  • Establish plans for campus buildings & facilities Establish financial plans for the university
  • Conduct analysis and evaluation of university administration
  • Conduct statistics on academic matters
The Legal Affairs Team is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Manage litigations
  • Interpret rules and regulations
  • Provide legal review of contracts
  • Conduct statistical analysis on litigation affairs
The Accounting Support Team is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Establish fiscal system of the university
  • Reform university’s fiscal procedures
  • Prepare university financial statement
  • Provide guidance in the settlement of accounts
  • Provide counsel and training on accounting and taxation
The External Affairs Coordinating Team is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Coordinate with external institutions
  • Manage Seoul National University Senate
  • Cooperate with independent organizations in the university ― Faculty Council, Labor Union, and others
  • Operate university honors programs: ‘Distinguished SNU Members’, ‘SNU Leadership Award’, and ‘Service to Society Award’
  • Cooperate with University Hospital and University Dental Hospital
  • Promote internal communication among the university community
The Public Relations Team is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Establish public relations plan
  • Communicate with media
  • Maintain the university website
  • Publish university magazine SNU People
  • Take photos of university events and maintain photo database
  • Manage ‘SNU Hall’
  • Manage social media accounts
  • Publish online newsletter

Office of Financial Planning

The Office of Financial Planning has two divisions: Division of Budget Control and Division of Asset Management.

The Division of Budget Control is responsible for the following affairs.

  • Operate and allocate budget
  • Operate Tuition Decision Committee
  • Secure and operate government contribution to university
  • Operate government subsidy and money replacing revenue
  • Operate University Committee on Financial Affairs
  • Establish and implement mid- and long-term financial plan
  • Comprehensively manage university's financial resources
The Division of Asset Management is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Establish university asset management plan
  • Acquisition, donation, and disposal of university assets
  • Entrustment, lease, and rent of university assets
  • Manage taxes on university assets such as acquisition tax and property tax
  • Inspection and evaluation of university assets
  • Fire insurance subscription

Bureau of General Administration

The Bureau of General Administration has three divisions and one team: Division of Personnel Management, Division of General Affairs, Division of Finance & Property, and Administrative Management Team.

The Division of Personnel Management is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Establish plans for personnel management including employment, quota, and compensation
  • Offer training and conduct evaluation for staff members
  • Manage pension and insurance for staff members: Teachers' Pension, Public Officials Pension, National Pension, Employment Insurance, and Industrial Accident Compensation
  • Issue staff ID cards
  • Issue certificates for staff
  • Operate the Academy of University Administration
  • Manage contractual staff
The Division of General Affairs is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Manage official stamps
  • Operate official document system including electronic document
  • Administer university rules and regulations
  • Assist in organizing civil defense and workplace reserve forces
  • Communicate with labor unions
  • Manage official vehicles
The Division of Finance & Property is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Implement university budget
  • Manage settlement of revenue and expenditure of general accounts
  • Manage expenditure of general budget
  • Manage extra-budgetary funds
  • Manage payment of faculty and staff salary
  • Manage year-end tax settlement for faculty and staff
  • Make payment of faculty and staff allowances for assigned positions or for job grade
  • Operate customized welfare system for staff
  • Manage tuition payment plan
  • File and pay taxes such as corporate tax and value added tax
  • Manage university purchasing and reform purchasing policy
  • Inspection of university property
  • Make payment of public utility charges
The Administrative Management Team is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Promote anti-corruption and integrity policy
  • Follow up internal audit recommendations
  • Publicize and implement the 'Improper Solicitation and Graft Act' and the 'Code of Conduct for Staff
  • Respond to the National Assembly's inspection
  • Operate year-round proposal system

Bureau of Construction and Facilities Management

The Bureau of Construction and Facilities Management has three divisions: Division of Campus Management, Division of Construction, and Division of Facilities Management.

The Division of Campus Management is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Maintain facilities and provide cleaning and security services
  • Fire prevention and protection
  • Prevent campus crimes and theft
  • Operate campus traffic and parking system
  • Authorize the use of campus outdoor facilities
The Division of Construction is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Establish plans for new construction and remodeling
  • Administer construction budget
  • Supervise and inspect new construction and remodeling
  • Manage government supply of construction materials
  • Deliberate on new construction and remodeling plans
The Division of Facilities Maintenance is responsible for the following affairs.
  • Maintain and repair campus facilities: buildings, infrastructures, electrical system, communication system, mechanical systems

The Office of Information Systems and Technology has Division of Information Technology Planning and Division of Information Service.

The Division of Information Technology Planning is responsible for planning, monitoring and evaluating information and computing resources on campus. The Division of Information Service is responsible for program development, server operation, software management, network operation, and security.

The Office of International Affairs has two teams: International Affairs Team and International Education Team.

The International Affairs Team is in charge of developing, promoting, and assisting Seoul National University's international programs and strategic initiatives. It identifies, develops, and maintains inter-university partnerships, academic exchange agreements, and international curricula.

The International Education Team provides administrative support for the university's international students, promotes cross-cultural events between Koreans and their international counterparts on campus, and conducts protocol activities for visiting officials.
