PARK Byung-sun/Historian
Park uncovered Jikji, world’s oldest extant printed book printed in 1377, 78 years prior to Gutenberg’s Bible, which had been missing for nearly two hundred years in a misclassification of a French library. Park found it after 13 years of persistent search and the copy was inscribed on UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register as the world's oldest metalloid type in 2001.
