The International Summer Institute at Seoul National University (SNU ISI) offers an exceptional opportunity for students to study at Korea's most prestigious university and one of the leading universities in the world. ISI offers an intensive five-week summer program led by distinguished SNU and international faculty. Conducted completely in English, courses are offered on a diverse range of topics with lectures held three times a week. Along with lectures, SNU ISI also offers its students opportunities to explore Korea's unique identity through field trips and special lectures. Students who wish to learn Korean and Korean culture may take the courses of "Korean Language" and "Korean Arts and Crafts" courses where they can learn language, cross-cultural communication skills, and traditional culture.
You may be able to transfer the academic credit you earn from SNU ISI towards your studies at your home institution. Credit transfer policies vary among different universities, so we advise you to check with your academic advisor before registering for SNU ISI courses to verify how the credits earned at SNU will be accepted by your home institution. Please note that SNU is not responsible for assessing how courses completed here will transfer to your home university.
Grades are based on tests, assignments, attendance, and class participation. Grades will be available online within one month after the end of the year’s SNU ISI program. ISI transcripts will be mailed to students in mid-September. Please be advised that if you plan to graduate in the summer, transcripts from SNU may not reach your home institution in time.
