On July 23, 2007, President Jang-Moo Lee signed the Eurasia-Pacific Uninet Declaration at the presence of the Uninet President Brigitte Winklehner.

Seoul National University is now officially a member institution of the Eurasia-Pacific Uninet, a network which aims at establishing contacts and scientific partnerships between Austrian Universities, universities of applied sciences and other educational facilities with partner institutions in East-, Central-, South Asia and the Pacific Region.

The network was founded in 2000 and has grown to a total of near 100 member institutions from Austria, China, Mongolia, Nepal, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Uzbek Republic, Bhutan and India. The network promotes multilateral scientific cooperation, joint research projects, conferences as well as faculty and student exchange.

The network offers scholarships to Ph.D. and Post-Doctorate candidates from member institutions who would like to study in Austria. Seoul National University has received four (4) such scholarships for its students to take advantage of starting as early as 2008 Spring Semester.
