Professor Shin discovered two adult males, one adult female, and one child, next to whom a pot with grain and shell bracelets found.

Professor Shin Dong Hoon (College of Medicine) and an excavation team from Deccan College in India excavated the remains of a Bronze Age family in Rakhigarhi. Rakhigarhi, a village in Haryana, India, is the site of the largest known city of the Indus Valley civilization. The family Professor Shin discovered is constituted of two adult males, one adult female and one child. “Next to the bones we found a pot filled with grain and shell bracelets. From these we can infer these people believed in reincarnation,” said research assistant Mr. Nilesh Jadhav. The remains are almost perfectly preserved and will be of great help in reconstructing what life was like in Bronze Age Indus Valley. The excavation team also found female jewelry and toys for children. The team also inferred that these people bred dogs since a clay dog doll had a leash on it. Professor Shin has participated in this excavation since 2011 and is researching the lineage and general state of health of the Bronze Age Indus Valley dwellers.
