Seoul National University has brought in a lawyer as the head of its intellectual property protection office.

A graduate of Columbia University’s law school, lawyer Baek Sun-woo will oversee the protection of technology patents and trademarks registered under the name of the University.

He will also seek to sell technologies developed by the school to companies or foreign countries.

SNU will establish a technology holding company"SNU Holdings" with a capital of seven billion won, or 5.48 million U.S. dollars.
