Number of Foreign Students at SNU Tops 1,000

The number of foreign students at Seoul National University exceeded 1,000 this year for the first time in the school's history. The country's leading university released an annual report showing that the number of international students in the first semester was 1,161, or 175 more than the same period last year. By nationality, Chinese students formed the largest group at more than 400, followed by Japanese at 75 and American at 40. The university says the surge in foreign students is due to its active exchanges with more than 100 schools abroad, and its efforts to become more global.
