SNU Hosts a Conference on the Law of Reality

The SNU Law Research Institute will host an international conference titled “On the Revision of the Law of Reality of the Republic of Korea and France” in the Centennial Building, College of Law on June 28 (Thursday) and 29 (Friday).

The Korean branch of L’Association Henri Capitant Francaise, the Korean Civil Law Association, the Law Research Institute (LRI) of Gyeongsang National University, the LRI of Chungbuk National University, and the LRI of Hanyang University will participate in this conference.

The main purpose of the conference is to critically assess the draft of the new French law of reality that L’Association Henri Capitant Francaise has submitted.

The French Civil Law Research Association within the Korean Civil Law Association invited Professor M. Grimaldi, H. Perinet-Marquet (aggregate buildings law), and Ph. Dupichot. L’Association Henri Capitant Francaise was founded in 1935 by Henri Capitant, who is still exerting continued influence on France’s law education through his many writings. Ninety percent of the members of the Association are civil and mercantile law scholars, while 10% of its members are public law scholars. The association has branches in 66 countries, and holds international conferences and publishes academic journals.

The recent establishment of the Korean branch is therefore considered to be a great step toward further exchange of ideas and cooperation within the global field of legal studies.
