1. Required Major
- Must be related
to Korean Studies (Korean Language and Literature, Korean Language Education,
Koreanology, Korean History, etc.).
- Korean Art, Korean Dance, Korean Music
are excluded.
2. Eligibility
(1) Applicant entering school in March of
2008 must have an Admission Letter from a department related to Korean studies
and must be available for the interview process.
(2) Currently pursuing master’s or doctoral
degree programs with more than 2 remaining semesters before graduation as of
March of 2008.
(3) Applicant is not a recipient of
scholarships from other institutions including the government or other
scholarship foundations.
3. Application Period and Notification
(1) Deadline: Friday December 21,
2007

(2) Notification for final selection: By Wednesday
January 30, 2008
(Notification will be sent to the school and
sent individually.)
4. Procedures
(1) First step: Review of submitted
documents
(2) Second step: Interview for applicants
who pass the first step
5. Scholarship will be provided from beginning of March, 2008.
6. Scholarship Amount
(1) Tuition (full), Matriculation Fee (for
newly admitted students),
Expenses for textbooks (500,000 won per
semester)
(2) Applicant must not be receiving other
scholarships.
7. Required Documents
(1) One Scholarship Application Form
(Attached)
(2) One copy of applicant’s Student VISA
(3) One Letter of Recommendation from a
professor in a previous graduate school with a signature of Dean of the College
(only for applicants pursuing a doctoral degree)
(4) One official transcript
a. Newly admitted master’s student:
English transcript from a previous college
b. Newly admitted doctoral student:
Transcript of master‘s program
c. Current Student: Transcript of master’s
or doctoral program
(5) One copy of Admission Letter of
Graduate School (master’s or doctoral): Applies only to newly admitted
students.
8. Submission of Documents
After completing the application form and
preparing for all the required documents, please submit them to the Office of
International Affairs
