Application for Scholarship 1st semester 2008

1. Open for  

 1) undergraduate, graduate, overseas students registering for the 1st semester 2008 including freshmen.  

 2) students who took year(s) off, not registered for the previous semester, and coming back to school for the 1st semester 2008 [Please see 5-4) below]

      (Students who registered for the previous semester, and coming back to school for the 1st semester 2008 are excluded) 

 3) freshmen at SNU graduate schools [Please see 5-4) below]

 4) excludes Business technical graduate students

 

2. Application period & deadline for document submission: 2007. 11. 5(Mon) ~ 11. 23(Fri) 
 * Students whose student ID number starts with 2007 are able to apply from 11.7 (Wed)
   due to changing ‘Scholarship welfare support card’ program.

 

3. How to apply 

   1) For graduate students, transfer students, undergraduate students who entered SNU before 2006, and students who started/start regular course before 2008, please fill in “Application form for scholarship 1st semester 2008” attached.  

   2) For students whose student ID number starts with 2007, please fill in “Scholarship welfare support card”

1. Log in at my SNU

 

2. Go to ‘학사행정’ on the top of the menu


3. Go to 등록/장학 (Registration/Scholarship)

 

4. Go to ‘장학’ (Scholarship)

 

5. Go to either ‘장학생신청’ (Apply for scholarship) or ‘장학복지지원카드신청’(Apply for scholarship welfare support card)

        

 

6. Read and close the pop-up

 

7. Fill out the form, and ‘save’

 

 

8. If this message pops up, your application is completed. Please click ‘확인’ (Confirm)

 

4. Submission of related documents:

- Please hand in all the documents by 2007. 11. 23(Fri) at the Administration office of applicant’s department.

   - It’s optional to hand in any other related documents. Documents submitted will be considered at the selection of students for various scholarship programs.

1) For those who fall into 3-1) category (①)

    ① Please print the ‘application form for scholarship 1st semester 2008’ and submit.

    ② Please submit related documents with applicant’s student ID number, name and contact details written the front page of each document. (Please refer to the example below)

    ② Please submit related documents which prove your various activities.

 

  2) For those who fall into 3-2) category (②)

   ① Mandatory documents: Printed ‘Scholarship welfare support card’  

   ② Optional documents: Guardian’s payment receipt of health insurance  

  ③ If you apply on line, but do not submit any documents, you will only be considered at the regular selection of scholarship students.

   ④ Those whose parents’ total Health insurance payment exceeds 100,000 won per month do not need to submit documents. Only on-line application is needed.

   ⑤ Those who want to appeal your financial status, should submit mandatory documents as well as related optional documents.  

   ⑥ Optional documents: 

      If both of your parents are currently paying the health insurance, please submit the receipts of each payment.

      If your single parent pays for the health insurance, and all of your family members are registered on it, please submit the receipt of the payment and the copy of the medicare book.

     If neither of your parents pays for the health insurance, and so they are registered in your bother’s or sister’s health insurance, please submit the certificate of taxation and the copy of the medicare book.

      If your parents are exempt from the health insurance, please submit the certificate of governmental medicare support and the copy of the the book.

* Please submit any documents which might help to prove your financial status.

 

4. Selection of scholarship student and procedures.  

   1) All the documents submitted including the application form and other optional documents will be considered. Through the recommendation from your supervisor and the dean of your college/department, the college president will finalize the selection.

   2) Selected students are exempt from the tuition fee, and it will be stated in the tuition bill. For external scholarship students, however, the foundation will transfer the tuition fee to the student’s personal account during the registration period.       

 

5. Notice

   1) Students who do not apply for scholarship will not be considered for both on-campus and external scholarship programs.

   2) Please present in detail about your financial status, grade, volunteering work experiences, leadership activities and family circumstances at the ‘Reasons for application’ section

   3) If you are already selected as external scholarship student, please name the scholarship program and foundation, at the ‘Reasons for application’ section.  

   4) If you are a freshman at graduate school, or you did not register for the previous semester, but are planning to come back to school next semester, please fill out the attached application form.

     - Please submit the application form and other related documents at the administration office of your college/department.

   5) Application will be cancelled if any of the information provided is proven not to be true.
