Education of Environmental Protection and Safety (Compulsory)

1. We are providing ‘Education of Environmental Protection and Safety’ in August 2007. We are asking each department and institute at S.N.U. to cooperate by posting this notice on their main websites, to make sure everyone this education is targeted for will be able to attend the lectures.

2. Especially for this time, undergraduate students (mainly senior students) at sciences or engineering departments as well as postgraduate students at those departments are required to take these lectures. This is because junior and senior students at undergraduate schools also do experiments at the laboratory. It is mandatory to take ‘Education of Environmental Protection and Safety’ to use facilities at the laboratory.

3. Undergraduate students will be issued a certificate at the completion of this course. This certificate is valid when undergraduate students write their thesis for graduation or apply for the postgraduate school. Undergraduate students should post the certificate on the certificate board at the laboratory if they are to use the laboratory. Therefore, please make sure that undergraduate students who need the certificate are included on the participants’ list.

A. Participants (mandatory): Undergraduate students using laboratory facilities, postgraduate students, researchers and college staff

※Freshmen students at undergraduate school do not need to take the lecture this time. Those students will attend a different ‘Education of Environmental Protection’ scheduled in September.

2) Changing your lecture time is only possible with official matters. Please avoid asking to change your lecture time and be sure to attend the lecture arranged for you on the scheduled date. This is due to the availability of the lecture rooms.

※Read the attached document2: ‘Education of Environmental Protection’ timetables

E. Other remarks

1) Students on the participants’ list will be admitted to the lectures. Therefore, please make sure everyone required to take this course should be enlisted so that no one will be enrolling at the last minute on the day of the lecture.

2) As for the people enrolling on the day of the lecture, we are to send an official document for the verification to the institute in charge of, which we do not hope to happen.

F. Contact The Institute of Environmental Protection and Safety (http://eps.snu.ac.kr) Youngjae Lee(880-1351,yclee@snu.ac.kr) for any inquiries.
