Internet circuit management [prohibited websites added]

In order to support the efficient use of internet on campus, the University Computer Center has continuously expanded the internet circuit bandwidth since 2002. In spite of such efforts, however, the school's internet circuit usage capacity has reached its maximum. This may lead to a possible slowdown of the overall internet speed.

To allow SNU students and faculty to access to a more efficient usage of the internet for educational and research purposes, the University Computer Center has blocked websites for P2P, gambling, games, stock exchange, etc. since October 2003. It plans to impose speed limits and ban access to more websites starting September 2007.  The list of the banned sites and the sites with speed limits will be regularly checked and renewed every semester. We ask for you cooperation.

However, in case a prohibited website is necessary for educational and/or research purposes, the removal of restriction may be requested to University Computer Center.
