As recent events indicate reinforcement of the law forbidding privileged treatment for former government officials, an article in Maeil Business News cast a spotlight on some former officials who have chosen alternative paths. A common trait of these people is that they entered SNU in 1982, majored in Economics, passed the government entrance exam, served for a while as officials and are now working successfully in the private sector. CHA Jinseok (Executive Director at SK Innovation), PARK Jongho (Financial Director at LG Electronics) and several others were introduced in the article. It was also pointed out that a similar situation where many officials are entrants of SNU in 1982 can also be found in politics.
