New Technology for Eco-Friendly Lithium Secondary Cell Battery

Professor KANG Kisuk’s research team of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering developed an eco-friendly lithium secondary cell battery which imitates the way human cells breathe. The team focused on the fact that the way in which a lithium secondary cell battery works is very similar to that of the human cell. The team made use of flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) molecules to enhance the performance of the battery by increasing the amount of energy stored.
