On-campus Subway Station to Sillim Might Be Made

According to Gwanak District Office and the Seoul Institute, the Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to extend the Seobu line of Seoul Light Rail to include Seoul National University. The decision, which was scheduled to be announced on July 17, was based on the Seoul Institute's original plans for the city's rails and the institute's re-evaluation of the validity of constructing a light rail. The Seoul Institute concluded that extending the Seobu line to include Seoul National University would be more profitable than other extensions. Gwanak District Office added that the extension would benefit the residents of Gwanak and Dongjak districts by easing traffic congestion and offering more options when transferring lines. However, as the budget of Seoul City Hall will not be able to cover all necessary expenses, the investment of private capital is said to be vital.
